It’s about a comedic couple who would do anything to avoid having to spend Chrismas with their family by telling them a made up plan to do travel and do a service of some sort, which their parents and family buy into believing of course. This couple basically does everything to avoid doing any traditional activities with their families so that they are able to do their own desirable wishes. One way or another, the family find out that their original plans don’t turn out and contact then immediately to invite them over for Christmas. The couple is now “stuck” with not one but four Christmases with the parents and family who love them very much. They begin to feel the belonging feelings of extended families which led into thinking of the family of their own, a thought that has been avoided between the two. They struggle through this thought, but eventually gain the courage to face their fears.
I love that this movie highlights the important role families play in peoples lives and the importance of time to spend with them; it’s where love is and where love grows. My husband and I watched this movie when it came out in theaters and enjoyed it.View on Amazon
